The form of the commode transitions from Louis XV to Louis XVI. It has the cabriole legs, apron and trailing floral decoration of the earlier style as well as the symmetry and flat front of the latter. The chest is covered in banded walnut veneer. The flowers and basket decorations are inlaid with hand drawn details. The top is black marble with touches of white and red. Bronze dore hardware and ormolu complete the 18th C. look.
