Vera Oxley was born after World War Il near Hong Kong, the daughter of an American G.l. and a Eurasian mother. The young Oxley's early drawings were praised by local dealers, and she was taken as a student by a local master of Oriental watercolors. From there she progressed to oils and Western styles of art. Her work is collected by patrons around the world and her shows regularly sell out. Oxley lives and paints near Sausalito, CA.

A painter in styles ranging from realism to symbolic abstraction and a distinguished, art educator, Lamar Dodd is called Georgia's most recognized artist of 20th century. He had a career centered in that state, although some of his painting assignments, such as being an official artist NASA, took him far beyond his hometown of Athens where the University of Georgia school of Art is named in his honor.

Working in bronze and steel, Reichen creates abstract pieces that are at once strong and graceful. "Metal," he says, "has the strength to be air and light. You don't necessarily think of metal that way, but I look at the surfaces I'm creating and see that they are soft, gentle, and delicate.
