The Sarasota painter who signs her vibrant realist painting Violetta was born near Odessa and is a fifth-generation artist. She earned a master's degree in painting and teaching at the Odessa State Institute. Violetta came to Sarasota in 1995. Her painting style integrates the drama and expressiveness 19th Century Russian painting with the lyricism and fluidity of 19th Century French Realism and Impressionism expressed with a modernist palate of strong vivid colors.
